Asset Protection Plans and Asset Protection Trusts

If you do not have enough insurance coverage, and if a plaintiff sues you and obtains judgment in excess of your policy limits, are your assets protected?
Or are they hanging out there for the taking?

A proper asset protection plan can shelter all or some of your assets from the claims of creditors (only future unknown creditors), and can in some instances make you "judgment proof."

Asset Protection Trusts (APT) and Offshore Trusts can shelter your assets from many kinds of claims.  You can shelter all or only some of your assets.  Usually, there is no adverse tax effect.
