Domestic Relations - Divorce, Custody, Child Support

Colorado is a no-fault divorce state.  That means your spouse can divorce you for any reason or for no reason at all.  All he or she has to do is to state on the record that the marriage is irretrievably broken, and that's it.  Ninety days after service of a petition of dissolution of marriage, you could be divorced.

What are the issues for a divorce?

The most common are:

Custody and parenting plan for the children

     Parenting Time

     Importance of Father’s Parenting Time

     Child support

     Spousal maintenance

     Real estate division

     Retirement and pension plans

Military retirement pay or other government retirement pay

Division of debts and attorney fees and costs of the divorce
